Chances are that if you’ve been smoking weed for very long you’ve probably had a hit or 100 of Sour Diesel. It’s kind of the corn flakes of the marijuana world and while some would consider it one of the most potent cannabis strains. You would be hard pressed to walk into a dispensary that didn’t have a few variations of the Sour D. So let’s break out our best vaporizers and give this herb a try!
Sour Diesel is a favorite among us cannabis connoisseurs a bright heady sativa that is excellent for daytime use. The herb is easily identifiable by it’s pale lime green coloring with dark green and orange leaves. I imagine the Sour Diesel got it’s name from the pungent fuel, citrus, and maybe a splash of milk aroma. That sounds gross I know but it’s much nicer than it sounds. Like a fine wine!
Well you guys know that we vape everything! Vaporizing is the absolute best way of conserving weed and getting the full clean unadulterated flavors. For this review we choose our go-to Davinci Ascent because the all glass pathways give you the most pure flavor available. You know that saying “Some like it hot” They were talking about Sour D! I think the best starting temperature for vaping weed is right around 190 degrees celsius or 383 fahrenheit. Get it hot and taste that diesel!
How to tell if you’ve got a good a good batch:
Your Sour D is going to stink. Just straight up pungency to the face! That’s okay it’s supposed to stink so good! You are looking for a strong scent of citrus and fuel.
The effects of Sour Diesel are delightfully fast acting and long lasting. With a THC content of usually more than 20% you will know it’s there! You will feel the effects almost exclusively in your head without a couch-locked or heavy body feeling at all. It’s a dreamy cerebral experience that helps many to focus better and gives them tons of energy.
Where does it come from?
The lineage of Sour Diesel is a tricky question! We’ve heard its a cannabis sativa strain but it’s commonly said that Sour Diesel comes from a phenotype of Chemdawg. The other side says that Sour Diesel is an Original Diesel (Chemdawg, Super Skunk, and Northern Lights) and a random Skunk phenotype (most likely Skunk, Hawaiian, and Northern Lights). Okay so we are no botanist over here but what we do know is that the Sour Diesel is awesome!
Medically Sour Diesel is known for energizing effects, stress relief, pain relief, and as a treatment for depression. The antidepressant effects of Sour Diesel are well commented on. Some medical users say this is their go to herb to start the day and get moving.
So! That’s a little info about one of the most popular strains! We ask all of the time on social media which strains are your favorite. Be sure to stop by Facebook or Twitter and tell us which to vape for you next!
