Denver, San Francisco, and Clio, Michigan has just celebrated the High Times Cannabis Cup this year with High Times magazine observing its 40th year anniversary in publication. The events saw some of the coolest and most potent cannabis strain on God’s green earth, some of which have made it to a variety of top 10 lists, including the strongest marijuana breeds of 2014.
Figuring out which cannabis strain is the most potent is next to impossible, really. There are literally hundreds of strains out there; it’s virtually impossible to keep count, from the Sativas to the Indicas to the hybrids. There are, however, some strains that have made it to the limelight mainly because of their exquisite taste and potency. And perhaps partly due to the cool names they have been given.
The “Blue Dream” is of the Sativa variety with light green to orange hairs, although it appears frosty and slightly blue, hence the name. This particular strain has a slightly fruity flavor that somewhat lingers on one’s lips. It presents a very potent head high. A few tokes and your mind can start flying in a Blue Dream, with random bursts of laughter here and there, of course. The Blue Dream is perfect for those who just want to relax and kick back after a hard day’s work. Some people like their scotch, while others prefer a bowl of good cheeba.
The “Tahoe OG Kush” is a hybrid of the Sativa and Indica varieties. Originally a strain from Tahoe, the Tahoe OG Kush really packs a punch with 22% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Definitely one of the most potent cannabis strain out there, guaranteed to uplift your spirits, make you laugh uncontrollably, and keep you relaxed all day long. The buds are not the finest looking and do not have the best taste of all the strains out there, but it is the best solution for appetite loss, anxiety, depression, and body pain.
At almost 25% THC level, the “Head Cheese” hybrid is probably the most potent cannabis strain you will ever try. A Sativa-dominant hybrid of two of the most well loved marijuana strains ever, Headband and Cheese (Head Cheese), offers a pungent cheesy aroma with a hint of herbs and hops, giving this legendary strain a unique flavor. This particular strain is ideal for pain relief, migraines, insomnia, inflammation, muscle spasms, and appetite loss. If you are looking for a euphoric and relaxing sensation, this is the weed for you.
Ultimately, gauging the potency, taste, and aroma of Cannabis Sativa strains, Indicas, or hybrids really depends on the smoker’s preferences. Some people like Scotch whiskey, while others prefer the American bourbon. Whether you like the head high or the full body sensation, the most important thing is to enjoy your trip. Set your troubles aside, turn on the nature channel, and light it up.
